About Us

Who is Custom Pharmacy Solutions?
Custom Pharmacy Solutions is a compounding pharmacy specializing in the treatment of Inflammatory and Neuropathic Pain conditions. We are located in Birmingham, Alabama, and have been in business for over 5 years. We are licensed in over 40 states across the U.S. as a compounding pharmacy.

We use topical non-opioid formulations that have been designed to address specific needs of patients. Compared to conventional oral products, our line of topical compounds provides quicker relief for patient discomfort, while requiring much lower dosages.

Why? Because of the localized activity and low systemic absorption, topical analgesics have a low risk of drug-drug interactions and there is a growing body of evidence on the efficacy and safety of these agents in a variety of pain disorders, including the most prevalent neuropathic pain conditions.

Are these FDA approved products?
Yes. The drugs used are FDA approved drugs in the their purest form, no fillers or dyes. The compound pharmacy mixes these drugs with a lipohillic base. Custom Pharmacy Solutions provides a ‘niche’ treatment option for patients and physicians by using FDA approved drugs in a novel topical compound that is cost effective, convenient for the patient, without the possibility of addiction.

Who regulates the pharmacies?
Custom Pharmacy Solutions has derived their formulations through physician involvement and patient feedback, thus improving our formulations over the past 4 years. These drugs used in the formulations are supported by extensive medical evidence, research and clinical application. All essential medications used in our formulations are FDA approved and are not novel drug entities. Custom Pharmacy Solutions is governed by each state board of pharmacy and is in full compliance with the Food and Drug Administration’s Compounding Pharmacy Guidelines, thus using FDA approved drugs in all of our formulations.

The state boards of pharmacy in each state issue licenses to compounders who wish to do business in the state. The state boards have nothing to do with billing; they grant licenses. The insurance companies, worker’s compensation, and other third party payers individually, depending on the payer, will pay for the compound form of the FDA non branded drug.
